I was a little wary of this beer when I read on the label, ‘brewed with orange blossom honey’. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big as fan of honey as Winnie The Pooh, I’d just never tasted it in beer before and was concerned it’d be sickly sweet.
What pleasant surprise this all-natural ale from the award winning Barossa Valley Brewing was. There’s golden honey in the colour; there’s a hint of honey on the nose and yes, certainly honey on the palate, but it’s subtle and balanced by the bitterness of the hops. It’s cloudy, due to the all important yeast necessary for secondary fermentation, but light on the tongue. A beautiful looking brew, it tastes so natural that I’m sure it must be good for you.
