So, I’m a fan of the PA, love a good IPA, was pleasantly surprised by the KPA and therefore could not resist sampling the APA.
Aotearoa Pale Ale, as the name suggests, comes from the Land of the Long White Cloud and the name ‘Tuatara’ is taken from a lizard-like creature unique to the Shaky Isles. In a stroke of marketing genius, Waikanae-based, Tuatara have developed their own unique bottle, modelled on the knobbly scales of their reptilian namesake. The result is both eye-catching and tactile.
The beer is pretty bloody good too! Golden brown with a complex citrus and toffee aroma, it sets your mouth watering even before the first taste. This is my kind of beer, with a beautiful balance between sweetness and a lingering pithy bitterness. I taste kumquat jam or Seville marmalade ………… in fact, my mouth is still watering now ……. and I finished the bottle an hour ago. I tell you bru, this a damn good brew! More please.
Next time you have fush n chups, wash it down with one of these.
